Associate Ecologist - Minerals - Dublin
Job Description
Our client is a global multidisciplinary Environmental and Advisory consultancy.
Ideally joining the Dublin office (although there is flexibility geographically for the right candidate), the person will work alongside a busy team of ESIA Project Managers and Ecologists working across a range of sectors including the Minerals and Power sector; with a remit to provide key support to the team in Dublin on the delivery of projects within the Minerals (Quarrying) sector primarily on sites within Ireland.
Whilst minerals sector experience is desirable, we are keen to hear from Ecologists with demonstrable project delivery, client and project management capabilities who would be keen to develop their ecological expertise within this sector.
Working alongside existing European Ecology team the person joining will support our ESIA Project Managers based in the Dublin office in the delivery of Ecology projects primarily within the Minerals sector.
Duties will be varied but will include undertaking ecological baseline studies and assessments, developing and implementing mitigation strategies, report writing and preparing Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, Appropriate Assessment Screening reports and Natura Impact Statement reports.
You will also be responsible for the management of projects, contributing to fee proposal preparation and development of client relationships and assisting with business development.
You will be expected to liaise and work with other SLR technical teams on a variety of subjects including planning, landscape, hydrology, noise and air quality and with our ESIA project managers.
Requirements
Level 8 degree in ecology or related subject
7+ years post-graduate experience
Demonstrable Ecological Consultancy experience inc surveying/working with protected species and all associated report preparation
Proven capabilities in project winning, delivery and management – and of team management, supervision and growth
Demonstratable experience and capability in preparation of Ecological Impact Assessments, Appropriate Assessment Screening reports and Natura Impact Statement reports – including experience in developing relevant/appropriate mitigation strategies, as required.
Experience within a range of sectors including residential/mixed-use, infrastructure, minerals and waste, and energy.
Relevant degree level qualification plus appropriate level of membership of CIEEM or equivalent
