Automation Engineer - BioPharma Site - Tipperary

Job Description

Our Client is one of Ireland's leading EPCm consultancies and a global player in the Semiconductor, Pharma and Biotech sectors.

Lead Automation Engineer to deliver the Process Automation System for a greenfield Pharmaceutical Fill Finish Facility.

Looking for start date in June 2022, candidate can work from Dublin Office or Remotely in Hybrid.

This design includes a fill finish building as well as associated support areas and utilities.  

The facility automation design will be a state of the art PLC and SCADA system for both packaged equipment (Filling Line) and the process.  

The project is starting in Basis of Design and will be starting Detailed Design phase in Jan 2023.  

This is a GMP facility, and all engineering activities below will be performed in a manner consistent with project computer system validation and documentation practices.

The Automation Lead will work with the inhouse and Client automation Team to develop the overall automation, operation plan, specification and execution and provide a +/-10% estimate for the facility and deliver the automation systems with package vendors and 3rd party integrators.  

Possess a deep understanding of the process engineering design for pharma processing and Fill Finish and working closely with client Process Engineers and Operations Representatives.

Possess a deep understanding of control system design in the pharmaceutical industry.

Technically Lead and develop requirements to onboard a SI for the BOD or for System integrators to Tender for delivery of the project and support the +/-10% estimate.

Work collaboratively with the System Integrator Engineers and Developers

Proactively work with the Computer System Validation Engineer to ensure deliverables and work practices comply with the project validation and documentation requirements

Requirements

BS Engineering (or equivalent experience)

10 years working experience in Biopharma engineering, operations, or manufacturing

Prior Process Engineering experience is strongly desired

Preferable, 10 years’ experience in control systems DCS and PLC/SCADA automation design 

Demonstrated technical leadership and teamwork abilities

Knowledge of GMP’S, regulatory requirements, computer system validation

Interface regularly and provide formal and informal project status updates to Project Management

Good written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Package

Minimum 12-month contract

€70 - €80 per hour hourly rate dependent on experience

Hybrid role with work from home and site visits
