Civil Design Engineer - Airport Infrastructure - Dublin
Job Description
Our client is an award-winning international engineering consultancy, currently undergoing rapid growth.
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to be based in our Client's Dublin or Galway office to take the lead in delivery of Civil Engineering design elements of an international airport project.
Planning and design of airport landside and airside infrastructure
Geometric design of runways, taxiways and aprons
Flexible, rigid and composite aircraft pavement design
Producing design and investigative reports related to aircraft pavements, airside and landside roads and associated airport infrastructure
Preparation of scope of site investigation work
Undertaking pavement inspections and preparing report and assessment on the findings
Supervision of construction of airport works and ensure that the execution is in accordance with the works specifications
Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders
Assisting in the development of proposals and bids for new commissions.
Acting as Senior Civil Engineer as part of Multidiscipline Design Teams
Management of Staff
Planning, design and supervision of runways, taxiways and aprons
Design of approach lights
Design of Hydrant Systems
Design of Fuel Depots
Financial management of design budgets
Design input and overseeing the delivery of all Civil aspects of projects
Preparation of project reports (Planning, Tender, Construction Stage)
Preparation of fee proposals and quality submissions for design contracts with public and private clients
Communication with internal and external parties via email
Preparation of design drawings and review of drawings prepared by others
Report writing
Review of Contractor and Design Team proposals
Assisting in undertaking duties of the PSDP, Assigned Certifier and Ancillary Certifier
Requirements
Level 8 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Level 9 preferred.
Chartered or near chartered preferred.
Experience will be gained in scheme and detailed design in a range of structural materials, report writing and project administration.
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary design team to deliver projects on time, to budget and to client satisfaction
Ability to keep control in pressed situations, deliver work within set timeframes and contribute to a good working environment
Ability to work collaboratively with fellow colleagues, delivery partners and team members to ensure successful results and effective delivery
A keen interest in emerging trends, developing technologies and evolving best practices to maintain our Client’s position at the forefront of its markets
Experience in Client facing roles
Good Communicator
Previous staff management experience
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Working Knowledge and experienced in airport infrastructure planning, geometric design and airfield engineering design
Knowledge and experience of airfield pavement design, materials specification and maintenance including principles and application of UK and international pavement design methods
Proven track record in co-ordinating and delivering design solutions in the airports sector
Application of EASA, ICAO, UK Airport operator standards and design requirements and other international standards
An understanding of the key drivers and challenges of airport design, specifically the interactions between aviation and airport operations, people and baggage movement
Effective communicator (written, verbal & presentations)
Planning and control of technical resources to deliver projects on time and to budget
Able to develop and motivate others
Working Knowledge of the following will be an advantage:
Earthworks and materials
Tender documentation
AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D
Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Package
Salary €55k - €65k depending on level of experience
