Civil Design Engineer - Louth

Job Description

Our Clients is involved in the provision of coordinated multi-discipline design service for their clients under one roof, from project inception to completion.

This role will involve working on design & build projects in the residential & industrial sector with private and public clients.

Projects are made up of access roads, site development works, mech & elec packages, buildings, retail and commercial fit outs and largescale industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent people, technical and delivery skills. 

You would be the design lead for the office for all civil & structural work with 3 additional technical staff in support.

Carry out structural design from concept stage to detailed design and site supervision (R.C./steel & timber). Design to Eurocodes and BS.

Design and oversee all civil works including specifications/calculations for planning approval and construction (mainly drainage works done by technicians)

Interface closely with Clients and the architectural team and control staff resources to time & budget.

Duties would include report writing and some court attendance as an expert witness.

Requirements

Min 5+ years’ experience preferably in a design and build environment

Chartered Engineer or aiming for chartership

Good ability with Masterseries/TEDDS, Revit & autocad.

Will need to lead and supervise others

Review designs, planning, and tenders packages and reports

Contribute to the bidding process and the winning of future work

Have a high level of competence in report writing.

Have good project management site experience.

Experience in the Contract Administration

Previous consultancy experience preferred

Experience and awareness of good business development practices

Experience of engaging with Clients and building repeat business strong linkages

The ability to bring multi-disciplinary teams together to deliver project exceeding client expectations

Experience working closely with Contractors and Client bodies
