Commissioning Engineer - Water Treatment - Ireland

Job Description

Our client is involved in the Design, Installation and Service of water purification systems for the Healthcare, Industrial, Municipal & Pharmaceutical sectors.

As a Commissioning Engineer within this company you will be responsible for project delivery of installation and commissioning of clean water treatment plants throughout Ireland with some occasional trips top European based sites .

The commissioning engineer will be an engineering specialist whose job is to ensure installed water treatment systems operate in a correct and safe manner and will meet the client’s requirements.

Plan and work on all aspects of the commissioning of Water Treatment Plants. 

Work in the areas of water systems and treatment plant evaluation, master planning and project delivery.

Prepares test sheets and other documents required for start-up (operational instructions, test reports, etc.)

Performs final checks of the correct execution of civil engineering works and assembly of equipment

Performs the electromechanical and automatic control system tests

Monitors flooding and start-up of plants

Verifies functional and process settings

Identifying problems and shortcomings with existing systems.

Co-ordinating testing and commissioning activities and providing advice on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation.

Producing or assisting in the production of all test and commissioning documentation.

Undertaking testing and commissioning activities in line with the specified site requirements.

Monitoring progress, recording all test results, witnessing final testing and acceptance of equipment and compilation of all documentation for inclusion in the site test dossier to meet specifications / water quality regulations.

Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve the necessary plant performance in accordance with project programme requirements

Provides training for the operator

Compiles definitive instructions for operations and start-up

Issues intermediate and end of mission reports

Actively participates in meetings with the customer, partners, suppliers and subcontractors


Degree in an engineering discipline such as electrical, mechanical or instrumentation 

Previous water treatment plant commissioning experience is required

Manage the development and execution of commissioning projects

Excellent oral and written communication skills

The role will require travel within Ireland so a driving licence is essential -Travel abroad sporadically to UK & Europe.

Overnight and weekend stays away from home are required.


Salary €45k - €65k based experience, negotiable for the right candidates.
