Contracts Manager - Main Contractor - Dublin
Our client is one of Ireland's leading Construction Management companies, providing construction solutions to the commercial, retail, healthcare, life science and industrial sectors.
We are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager to manage the safe, successful and profitable delivery of multiple contracts from prequalification through to retention release.
You will be expected to manage the execution of projects embracing our project delivery ethos and commercial processes whilst embedding our culture of health & safety, quality, client service satisfaction and being legislatively compliant.
A key responsibility is to continue to foster and grow new and existing relationships with our clients, team and our project stakeholders to further build on our business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting an excellent safety culture leading by example. Managing and ensuring adequate controls and required reporting takes place on all projects in line with our Safety Management system to successfully deliver our projects safely and responsibly.
The health, safety and well being of our team, those working on our projects and our neighbors is of paramount importance on every project.
Ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to every project and they have adequate training and are competent to carry out their work and meet our high level of health & safety compliance.
Ensuring our sites are set up safely and from day one our culture of safety excellence is evident and all parties working on our projects are adhering to these requirements. Where an accident takes place, details are recorded accurately and reported, investigations take place & corrective actions are implemented as soon as possible to address any issues.
Ensure our companies responsibilities to the environment are met and exceeded on every project by the implementation of the procedures and requirements of our Environmental Management System.
Responsible for agreeing a challenging contract budget with the commercial team on appointment.
Lead the project Quantity Surveyors and assist the Commercial Manager in the timely submission of all relevant reporting required to monitor and analyse individual contract performance (CVR’s) on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Show evidence of improved Project Margin over settlement / handover margin
Ensure the Quantity Surveying team are meeting their obligations in relation to cost reporting to the PQS and adhering to the companies procedures for internal reporting and administration of your projects.
Manage a positive cash flow on your projects by ensuring interim and final valuations are issued, recommended, certified and invoiced in a timely manner.
Agree Final Accounts quickly and successfully whilst ensuring good relationships are maintained with the Client and Design Team and we get future opportunities from both.
Responsible for setting a high standard of professionalism through excellent communications, both verbally and in writing
Respond to Request for Proposals, Qualifications, Information and other requests to engage with our clients.
Make presentations at pre-contract and progress meetings with clients.
Lead multiple project teams to ensure that contracts are completed as per the programme, on budget, to an excellent quality.
To ensure the clients Quality Management System is implemented on every project.
Ensure that quality is a priority from the “Get-Go” and that Snag Free handovers are our goal on all projects.
Ensure Project De-brief Meetings are held on all projects and any lessons learnt are shared across the business
Our aim is to obtain client testimonials, feedback and repeat business from every project.
Assist in the recruitment and training of staff and be responsible for their development and motivation.
Take on and close out non-core duties within the business.

Show evidence of own CPD and encourage the CPD of your team
Encourage all staff to engage with a mentor and to make themselves available to mentor those less experienced than themselves
Make time to attend and encourage your team to attend our Engagement Team events
Honours Civil / Construction Engineering degree with 10+ years’ experience.
Maintain high professional standards with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) supporting the development of strong relationships (team, client, subcontractors & neighbours).
Demonstrate key leadership qualities in the management & development of project teams leading by example to deliver projects safely & to a very high standard.
Very good IT skills with familiarity working with Microsoft packages (or similar scheduling packages)
€80,000 - €100,000 depending on experience
