Electrical Resident Engineer - Engineering Consultancy - Cork

Job Description

Our client is a multi-disciplined international engineering consultancy, currently undergoing rapid growth in Ireland.

We are currently recruiting a Resident Electrical Engineer to work on Cork and Munster based projects

The Resident Engineer shall be responsible for monitoring, witness testing, checking compliance with the scope and that all works are carried out in accordance with the works contract.

The Resident Engineer shall be working predominantly on site.

Manage the H&S system relevant to their work area

Participate in work activities which support the Quality Management system

Ensure 90% achievement in due date delivery of service

Check project documentation, drawings and calculations, as required

Check design calculations are in accordance with the requirements of the QA system if needed.

Carry out site surveys and attend site meetings

Review Claim / Variation submissions

Participate fully within the project team

Ensure understanding of project management objectives

Follow defined goals & training plans

Maintain CPD and Meet appraisal goals

Requirements

Degree qualified (Level 8) with 10 years minimum post-graduate experience, or equivalent

Satisfactory experience monitoring, testing and defects, and checking compliance of an electrical engineering construction project with a capital value of at least €5m (ex VAT)

Chartered status desirable (or qualifications leading to chartered status)

Experience in either Public Realm, Building Services, including Commercial, Industrial or Healthcare projects

Significant experience in client interfaces and contract administration on medium to large projects

Highly motivated and capable of directing the work of junior

Good site experience, including construction support, surveys, meetings and generating snag lists

IT Proficiency using standard office software, such as Microsoft word and excel

Basic understanding of specific building services design tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, HEVACOMP and similar
