Estimator - Building Contractor - Dublin
Our client is a medium sized building contractor working within the commercial and residential sectors
Analysing information, estimating, planning and reporting research results
Strategic planning and an attention to detail
Able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
Experience using Costx is an advantage
Able to multi-tsk and meet strict deadlines
Impeccable problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Experience in the construction industry is required for this role
You will have the ability to work on your own initiative, have an excellent knowledge of the industry, and be motivated and a good team player
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Complete tender submission including the Form of Tender, Bills of quantities etc .
Assist the production of tender documents;
Measuring from plan drawings and measurements to produce fully priced detailed bills of quantities including labour hours and material costs
Attend pre tender interviews and post tender presentations where required
Work with MD and commercial manager on preparation of the estimate for each job
Prepare material in the agreed format for presentation to the MD.
Receive all tender documents and ensure the relevant people are copied
Issue sub-contract and material enquiries, including scope of works and attendance schedules (where applicable).
Chase tender returns and update enquiry schedule
Develop and fill gaps in tender, compile clarifications and estimator notes for file copy.
Develop and assess a risk schedule and an opportunity assessment
Develop a value engineering schedule
Complete analysis of tenders and prices received from the supply chain
Produce documents for tender settlement and present clear nett costings identifying risk and opportunity
Develop client and consultant relations and manage expectations
Obtain feedback on both successful and unsuccessful tenders
2-3 years experience in a similar role
Civil Engineering or Construction related degree essential
Excellent time management skills and must be able to complete projects before deadlines
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Advanced IT skills.
Salary €35k - €55k depending on experience
