Estimator - Civil - Rail - Cost Consultancy - Dublin

Job Description

Our client is one of Ireland's leading international Engineering Project Management group, providing solutions to the infrastructure, industrial and commercial sectors

They are seeking an estimator with 3+ years mechanical / electrical experience to join the team based in North Dublin

Permanent staff role with a mix of WFH and office based work

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for specific disciplines and provide business support to senior staff as directed.

Analyse drawings and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates

Perform accurate quantity take-offs of available design documents

Obtain accurate and up to date pricing information for databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates

Input estimate take-off information for specific discipline and develops unit cost pricing

Work with architects and engineers to develop clear understanding of project scope for preparation of estimate

Develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members

Assist in ways to make projects more efficient. Seeks ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks

Maintain project documents such as drawings and specifications in an organized and reasonable manner

Maintain and updates data library of costs

Prepare cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explains variance cost drivers

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Economics or related field

3+ years of estimating experience

Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision-making abilities

Working knowledge of commercially available construction cost estimating system

Working knowledge of electronic take-off software

Must have excellent communication and presentation skills. Well-organized, self-motivated and ability to work with other department members as a team

Must be an independent, reliable and precise with strong work ethics

Advanced Microsoft Excel

Experience as a Cost Analyst w/ use of work breakdown structures

IT Competent, must understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office

Suite.

Package

€60K-€80K negotiable based on qualifications and experience

Permanent staff role with the option of 50% WFH and 50% office based
