Health & Safety Advisor - Construction Contractor - Dublin
Our client is a fast track construction contractor specialising in the healthcare, education, industry, construction and leisure industries in the UK & Irish markets.
Due to continued expansion, our client are seeking to appoint a qualified health and safety advisor to work from their Dublin office.
Reporting directly to the company Health and Safety Manager, the role will involve:
Providing H&S support to the production facility and site management teams in both Ireland and the UK.
Completing on-site safety inspections, ensuring standards are maintained and that any remedial actions are being addressed.
Monitoring of contractor’s health and safety performance, ensuring their H&S documentation is sufficient (e.g. reviewing RA/MS, etc).
Completing and updating Construction Phase Plans, Traffic Management Plans, Emergency Response Plans, etc
Creating and distributing method statements and risk assessments for site works.
Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed, monitoring of compliance with Site Rules.
Ensuring sites are set-up to requirements of CDM Regulations.
Holding meetings - site H&S, safety committee etc
Promoting safety initiatives and hazard reporting schemes
Reviewing training needs and booking courses where necessary.
Management and filing of statutory inspections.
Carrying out site inductions and toolbox talks.
Participate in accident/incident investigations, report writing and follow-up on corrective actions.
Completing inspections on plant and equipment, e.g. scaffolding, fall protection equipment, etc.
Completing emergency drills.
H&S Qualification - minimum H&S (e.g. UCD,NEBOSH, BSC).
Previous sub contractor management experience.
Knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
Candidate must be proactive and self- motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a positive, enthusiastic and approachable manner.
Regular travel to the UK shall be required for site inspections, etc.
Salary €30K- €40K negotiable for the right candidate
