Industrial Maintenance Electrician - Wastewater Treatment - Dublin
Our Client is an international water infrastructure asset management company with an office in Dublin.
They provide operations and maintenance services for water and wastewater infrastructure.
To provide expertise on all electrical and control (SCADA, PLC, instrumentation and communications) systems, and problem solving/fault finding of electrical systems & equipment throughout the site to secure the continuous operation of site.
Health and Safety
Implement and promote best practice Health & Safety standards and practices
Ensure that all company safety procedures are correctly implemented e.g. isolation permits, excavation permits risk assessments etc.
Report all safety issues/concerns promptly to superiors
Familiarity with national wiring regulations and coordinating with the HSEQ manager on the implementation of best practice electrical safety policies
Problem Solving / Fault Finding:
Ensuring that all PLC programmes are maintained and secured to be safe and deliver efficient plant operation
Problem solving and fault finding with the SCADA distributed control system, PLC configuration and programming (Allen Bradley, Historian, DCS/SCADA Wonderware)
Problem solving and fault finding with MV/LV AC and LC DC switchgear and distribution systems.
Ensure that all electrical systems are maintained in good and safe condition
Management of preventative maintenance plan on electrical equipment and systems where possible, including thermography, instrument calibration etc.
Process/Equipment troubleshooting & failure analysis
Deliver innovative technical solutions to the plant
Liaise with process & production personnel in relation to their issues and concerns regarding plant operation and control
The position of Maintenance Electrician requires flexibility and availability as demanded by the needs of a continuous plant and process.
You will be part of an on-call system providing electrical cover and as a result, after-hours and weekend interaction with the plant will be a routine aspect of the job.
You must be a good team player and be analytically minded in linking financial performance to operational efficiency.
As part of the engineering and maintenance team you will be required to be flexible and adaptable, to meet the varying needs of the business.
5 years relevant engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment
A National Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering is essential.
A Bachelor’s degree in electrical/automation engineering or Mechatronic Engineering would be a distinct advantage
Fault diagnosis & solving experience
PLC programming experience Allen Bradley
SCADA experience Historian, DCS/SCADA Wonderware
Communication experience, Ethernet, Controlnet, Devicenet, Profibus
VSD Drive programming & trouble shooting, ABB
MS – Office, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project
Fluent in English
Strategic thinking and action
Basic Salary €42K - €44K Plus overtime
Working hours are 7.30 am to 4 pm Monday-Thursday, 7.30 am to 3 pm on Friday.
There is an on call rota of 1 in every 4 weekends.
