Junior Structural Engineer - Dublin City

Our client is Ireland's leading civil & structural engineering consultancy.

Have some design experience in understanding and developing calculations in structural load takedowns, structural frame analysis, structural force behaviours, and member design for elements such foundations, column, beam, slab, retaining wall, etc whether in concrete, steel, and/or other materials

Prepare calculations, plans, schedules, conduct or coordinate simple phases of engineering work as directed.

Resolve conflicting design requirements and coordination requirements under the direction of a Senior Engineer.

Review technical content of all work performed under direct supervision.

Independently perform assignments with instruction of specific expected results.

Coordinate design work with CADD Technician, if applicable.

Prepare opinions of probable cost and reports under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.

Perform construction observation and administration tasks as assigned by a Senior Engineer.

Requirements

Honours degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

Candidates should have 2-3 years post graduate experience in structural design and in particular the design for steel and concrete structures and sub structures. 

Good working knowledge of structural analysis modelling and design suites is essential

Strong and clear communication skills are important.

Demonstrate an awareness of the collaborative aspects of structural design.

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; interact effectively with team members, clients, and the public.
