Lead Structural Engineer - Cork

Job Description

Our client is an award winning international engineering consultancy, currently undergoing rapid growth.

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be based in our Client's Cork office to take the lead in delivery of Structural Engineering design elements of building and site development projects.

Projects include building and site development projects for the Commercial, Residential, Healthcare, Industrial and Education Sectors for both public and private clients. 

Duties will include:

Acting as Lead Structural Engineer as part of Multidiscipline Design Teams

Management of Staff

Financial management of design budgets

Design input and overseeing the delivery of all Structural aspects of projects 

Preparation of project reports (Planning, Tender, Construction Stage)

Preparation of fee proposals and quality submissions for design contracts with public and private clients 

Communication with internal and external parties via email

Preparation of design drawings and review of drawings prepared by others

Report writing 

Review of Contractor and Design Team proposals 

Assisting in undertaking duties of the PSDP, Assigned Certifier and Ancillary Certifier

Requirements

Level 8 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Level 9 preferred.

Chartered or near chartered preferred.

Working knowledge of 3-D building design software and BIM would be a distinct advantage. 

Experience will be gained in scheme and detailed design in a range of structural materials, report writing and project administration.

Experience in Client facing roles 

Good Communicator

Previous staff management experience

Experience in delivery of Structural Engineering Design 

Proficient in MS Office Suite

Package

Salary €55k - €65k depending on level of experience

Excellent benefits package, including company pension
