Procurement Officer - Construction - Kildare

Our client is an international EPC consultancy involved the the design & construction management of Advanced Technology Facilities, Life Sciences & Chemicals & Data Centre projects worldwide. 


Job Description

The successful candidate will report direclty to the Procurement Manager and will have at least 5 years experience within a similar buying role with very strong Excel skills.

He/she should be knowledgeable about sources of supply of telecoms/civil engineering materials; 

Be highly skilled at communicating with quantity surveyors, site personnel, suppliers and relevant internal departments as well as capable of working as part of the Procurement Department. 


Responsibilities

Demonstrate ability to work with quantity surveyors for estimating and pricing schedules 

Have good product knowledge of Fibre Optic Cables, Cable Accessories, Cabinets, Ducting, and Boxes & Covers.

Place orders with assigned suppliers at regular intervals and ensure the prompt delivery of these orders

Liaise with site management on materials required

Input orders within the given time frame and update prices on the database

Negotiate prices with suppliers as well as follow up on price requisitions as requested

Create reports using spreadsheets. 

Perform administrative duties to the specified standard and within the time frame required by the procurement department

Must be flexible to participate in other duties as required by the department


Key Requirements

Min 5 years experience working in a similar procurement role

Clearly be able to articulate the focus on administrative duties associated with procurement. 

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. 

Self-driven, results-oriented, team player with a strong focus on quality and planning.


Package

€32K-€40K dependant on prior relevant experience
