Job Description

Our Client is a leading international engineering consultancy, offering civil and structural engineering design and consultancy, project management and construction related H&S consultancy to leading Building & Property Development companies.

The role will involve working in the planning and design of commercial, retail, residential and mixed use buildings in Ireland and overseas. 

Requirements

Level 8 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Level 9 preferred.

Chartered or near chartered preferred.

5+ year's experience in a Structural Engineering Consultancy environment. 

Working knowledge of 3-D building design software and BIM would be a distinct advantage. 

A strong appreciation of the implications of the BCAR process for designers is required as well as an awareness of the role of the designer under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations.

Should have previous experience in reinforced concrete and steel structural design to Eurocodes, experience in the analysis and design of multistorey buildings, experience in the correct use of 3-D modelling and design software packages such as Robot, SCIA or other equivalent.  

Experience will be gained in scheme and detailed design in a range of structural materials, report writing and project administration.

Previous project experience should include design and construction stage monitoring for at least two of the following type buildings: apartments, office, education sector, health sector, logistics and warehousing, multistorey buildings, basements.

Excellent verbal communication skills

Clear, concise and user friendly writing skills

Strong interpersonal/people skills with the ability to manage design personnel

A proven track record working closely in partnership with clients and contractors and other members of design teams

A proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios

Understanding of the Irish / international regulatory and policy issues

Site/construction/operational experience would also be beneficial

Package

Salary €45k - €60k depending on level of experience
