Job Description

Our client are industry leaders in providing project solutions for the water and wastewater industry including design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance. 

You will be managing an experienced team of individuals in the development of designs in process, mechanical and civil fields, along with the pricing of projects. 

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of Process Mechanical and Civil installations of both water and wastewater treatment plant design and build environment, with 10 years’ experience required.

You will be an integral part of developing the design and pricing of our clients’ projects, in a transparent and collaborative fashion. 

And will be responsible as Project Manager of managing the design/delivery team to ensure that all deliverables are met and that they are presented to a high standard. 

You will report to the Programme Manager and Directors on day-to-day basis on progress and commercial matters.

You will be intuitive, innovative and strive to deliver the best approach and design to exceed the clients’ expectations, while maintaining a team spirit in a collaborative manner.

In early phase of the project, manage the proposal team to deliver successful proposals, and organize the set-up for the engineering delivery team, including a technical, and commercial aspects.

Plan start up and manage design and pricing activities in collaboration with the client’s project management team

Setting up a project execution plan, design management plan, a project schedule in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.

Establish the overall budget for the design stage and ensure that it is followed by the team and the various partners.

Assist in activities related to the preparation of financial reports required both internally and for clients.

Establish and maintain quality standards in collaboration with the various teams in place within our own team and partners, ensuring that they meet required standards.

Establish and follow risks in design as well as requirements management and compliance to contractual terms of the contract.

Ensure fluid communication between the management team, the design team, the construction team and the various internal and external stakeholders regarding the elements relating to project delivery.

Actively participate in the implementation of project management processes such as Change management.

Actively participate in negotiations with the client during changes and with suppliers and / or subcontractors when awarding subcontracts.

Responsible to maintain the overall project budget and schedule of the design stage


Requirements

10 years of experience or more in engineering/tendering or design delivery, including more than 5 years in infrastructure projects

5 years and more of experience in a project management position of design teams for complex water/wastewater projects.

Demonstrated experience in managing a team in a Lump-Sum, DBO or DB type delivery

Experience in Owner Engineer role would be an asset.

Experience in delivering engineering under different partnership relations; ie. Frameworks, Joint-Venture, Prime-Sub.

Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and management of project management processes.

Demonstrated leadership experience in the management of multidisciplinary and multi-located teams of professionals.

Ability to work in concert with integrated teams of consultants and subcontractors.

Results oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities as well as use feedback processes to identify improvement opportunities and innovative solutions,

Willingness to work in a collaborative environment and ability to set up strong and efficient work teams.

Strong skills in written and verbal communication as well as in the development and delivery of presentations to Client, Company executives, specialized and non-specialist audiences.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

Demonstrate initiative, autonomy and an ability to work with limited supervision.
