Quantity Surveyor - Civils - Mayo
Our client are established experts in Pipe Replacement Technology and Civil Engineering
The successful applicant will report to the Commercial Director and will be responsible for managing the Commercial/Quantity Surveying functions of the contracts to maximise commercial success and profitability.
Responsible for the effective management of all resources on site to ensure project completion on time, to specification and within budget.
Establishing, monitoring and maintaining reporting arrangements, resources and client relationships.
All Quantity Surveying duties including re-measurement, preparation of monthly progress applications and settlement of final accounts.
Preparation of interim progress applications for payment and internal valuations.
Procurement of subcontractor and specialist supplier’s packages.
Interim payments and settlement of subcontractors’ final account
Provide junior staff with guidance on their job responsibilities.
Negotiate with clients representatives and other consultants
Advise project management on contractual implications of intended courses of action.
Advise on commercial risks within the project or projects.
Preparation of monthly contract cost reports.
Preparation of monthly management accounts information.
Preparation of Cost Preliminaries.
Identify change and implement change control process and agreement.
Ensure that sub-contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement.
Keep management fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project.
Preparation of Cash flow forecasts. Value Engineering and preparation of bills of quantity.
At least 3 years’ experience in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying role
A broad knowledge of Public Works contracts
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Good commercial and business acumen and IT literacy
A third level qualification in a construction related discipline; preferably Quantity Surveying
Must be willing to travel
Must hold a clean drivers licence
€50k- €70k basic salary and negotiable dependent on experience
