Quantity Surveyor - Construction Contractor - Galway

Job Description

Our client is a main buildings contractor working on a wide variety of projects in the commercial, healthcare and educational sectors.

You will be working within a well-established Galway based team.

They have an immediate requirement for a QS with 4+ years post degree experience for a large scale pharma project based in Galway with 2-3 days per week based onsite and 2 days either working from home or from the Galway Head office

Requirements

Degree in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying or similar

4+ years QS experience

Ability to QS / Price projects / deal with interim payments / valuations / negotiation with sub contractors / agree final accounts

Knowledge of varying Irish Forms of Contracts and Contract Procedures and Protocol 

Competent in all forms of surveying packages, Microsoft Excel, Buildsoft, etc.. (strongly computer literate – Cubit an advantage)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills dealing with design team / client/ meetings etc.

Previous experience working on high quality medium - large-scale Public and Private contracts in various sectors: - Industrial / Health / Pharma / Commercial / Education.

Contractually and commercially astute

Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Effective Team Player

Knowledge of Buildsoft Global Estimating/Cubit/Excel/Word

Attention to detail is a must.

Ability to work on their own initiative

Package

Salary €55K-€65K negotiable based on experience and excellent company benefits and a strong order book.

2-3 days per week site based in Galway with remaining days WFH
