Quantity Surveyor - Main Contractor - Dublin
Our client is one of Ireland's leading Construction Management companies, providing construction solutions to the commercial, retail, healthcare, life science and industrial sectors.
Ensure understanding of our company policy and obligations relating to how we manage health & safety on our projects and this is provided for within our project budgets.
Manage and report on financial performance of allocated projects.
Work closely with Senior QS / Commercial Manager to ensure targeted gross margins are met.
Manage cost control on preliminaries budget/current/forecast. Ensure project teams understand budgets & good communications are in place on an ongoing basis.
Produce accurate monthly cost/value reconciliation in a timely manner. Ensure all CVRs are reviewed with Commercial & Contract Manager prior to CVR review.
Ensure all sub-contract orders are drawn up in timely manner and all liabilities are captured to lie strictly with the subcontractor.
Ensure retention of excellent records relating to contractual administration (e.g. variations, additional cost claims, EOT etc)
Manage sub-contractor accounts including the negotiation and agreement of sub-contractor payments and final accounts.
Agree final accounts within 4 weeks of PC.
Ensure adherence to our procurement payment protocol.
Support the delivery of overall project working with the team to clear defects and in applying for final account release.
Maintain and grow healthy relationships with the design team professionals, client representatives and our supply chain on all projects.
Identify new opportunities in the market and feed these into our Pre-Construction Team to drive future growth.
Provide support with estimating / tendering as required.
For repeat business / Day 2 projects, take ownership of Budgeting/Negotiation/Tendering function and agree costs with the Client Representative.
Ensure prompt opening (Budget CVR and Start Sheet) and closing of Final Accounts
Ensure detailed pre-start handover meeting with Estimating Team takes place and agree budget.
Support development of more junior staff to support their professional growth and development.r QS
Hons Degree Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics with 2+ years’ experience
Maintain high professional standards with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
Demonstrates good technical, strong negotiation & conflict management skills
Demonstrates a creative & forward-thinking approach
Excellent at budget management and punctual with reporting deadlines
Customer focused with a drive for continuous improvement
Demonstrate ongoing development of CPD and a desire to progress in career
€40,000 - €65,000 depending on experience
