Resident Engineer - Buildings & Structures - Carlow

Job Description

Our client is a leading Irish multidisciplinary Engineering and Project Management Consultancy with operations nationwide. 

They work on the country’s most challenging projects to deliver Ireland’s infrastructure. 

Monitor and report on all works (Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire) being carried out onsite (Quality, Programme, Cost) 

Monitor the Contractor for compliance with the Safety Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations  

Monitor the Contractor for compliance with Environmental aspects of the project. 

Prepare excellent technical reports and presentations for internal and external use 

Liaise with, and report to, the Employers Representative, Project Manager, other discipline consultants. 

Key Requirements

At least 10 years relevant experience 

Hold a level 8 honours degree or equivalent professional qualification in Structural, Civil or Mechanical, Electrical Engineering.

A track record in the delivery of multi-disciplinary industrial/commercial buildings projects  

Working knowledge of Public Sector Works / Contracts 

Detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation and regulations  

Track record of leading, or playing a senior role on site supervision teams  

Contractor RFI and submittal-design-review experience beneficial 

Team Player with excellent communication skills (fluent/proficient spoken and written English), team working skills and analytical skills 

Ability to lead and motivate themselves and others; willingly takes ownership of issues and seeks team participation to achieve best solution 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations

Ability to devise new approaches to problems encountered 

Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications (MS Word and MS Excel in particular, MS Project desirable) and Autodesk software. 

Package

€60 - 65K, depending on experience
