Scaffolding Coordinator - EPCM - Kildare
Our Client is one of the world's largest EPC Consultancies, involved in the design & build of plants for the pharmaceutical, biotech and energy industries.
This role involves managing safe scaffolding, and coordinate Scaffolding arrangements between contractors.
To maintain injury free workplaces where everybody goes home safely
To ensure safe working in company workplaces without harm to people, property or the environment.
To provide company management with EHS advice and guidance
To manage project based EHS managers and EHS support staff
Duties & Responsibilities
Actively encourage implementation of company ‘Best Practice / Best Known Methods’
Implement company, client and legislative EHS requirements
Identify temporary works requirements on projects
Management of the temporary works design and the implementation of the temporary works solution on site.
Engage fully with all technical teams and be closely involved in the full temporary works design process from concept, through detailed design stages and onto delivery and aftercare.
Coordinate all temporary works on site
Identify any risks during the entire life-cycle (design, construction, loading, dismantling etc.…)
Check the Temporary Works design
Ensure all risk assessments are prepared to ensure safety of Temporary Works
Issue any permits to load
Supervise construction-related scaffold work activities
Ensures that sub-contractor are trained and knowledgeable of specifications and work procedures
Inspect scaffold holdings for compliance to local and industry standards
Introduce and maintain a scaffold inspection system
Provide company management with EHS advice and guidance
Maintain company EHS policies, procedures and other EHS documentation relating to Temporary Works and Scaffolding
Maintain ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 accreditation
Complete Temporary Work elements of tender enquiries and client pre-qualification documentation
Undertake supplier / subcontractor competency assessment
Undertake formal project health, safety and environmental inspections
Notify all adverse events in compliance with the ‘Incident Notification Policy’ and ‘Adverse Event Notification Flowchart’
Undertake adverse event investigation and reporting when required
Provide advice, coaching, training, information and guidance
Lead and participate in planning sessions with both the client and its contractors.
Coordinates the activities of contractors performing work within a discipline
5 years minimum in site supervision in a construction environment
Working knowledge of Irish health, safety and environmental legislation
Computer literate, at minimum Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Lead by example
Work diligently and professionally at all times
Maintain familiarity with legislative changes and update Company procedures to reflect / encompass requirements
Be assertive, fair and consistent when implementing Company or legislative requirements and when reprimanding contractors or individuals
Temporary Works Co-Ordinator Certificate
CISRS Scaffolding Supervisors Card or similar
12 month + contract
Contract rates dependent on prior relevant experience, ca €40 - 50/hour
