Senior Bridge Engineer - Ireland

Job Description

Our client is a multi-disciplined international engineering consultancy, currently undergoing rapid growth in Ireland.

The position involves working on projects throughout Ireland and the UK.

This role can be based in Cork, Dublin, Galway.

The Senior Bridge Engineer shall be a member of the Transport & Bridges team which has an active and interesting current / upcoming project portfolio.

Leading / project managing all stages of projects involving the design, procurement and contract supervision of new bridge projects and bridge remediation projects;

Working as part of multi-disciplinary design teams in the delivery of transportation infrastructure;

Providing a high quality service to our Clients in the Public and Private Sectors;

Managing design teams and mentoring young engineers;

Business development and tender bid management for professional services contracts.

Requirements

10+ years relevant experience in the areas of bridge design and remediation;

A Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering;

Ideally a Level 9 Master’s Degree in Bridge Engineering or cognate discipline;

Chartered Engineer status (CEng, MIStructE or equivalent).

 A track record in the delivery of bridge projects;

Detailed knowledge of the analysis and design of bridges in pre-stressed concrete and steel;

Fully conversant with the Eurocodes and the Irish and UK Design Manuals for Roads and Bridges;

Working knowledge of typical contract forms and in particular the GCCC suite of Public Works Contracts;

Considerable experience in the preparation of contract documents for transportation infrastructure;

Track record of leading design teams and working as part of both Employer-led and Contractor-led design teams;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Package

Salary €65k - €75k based experience, negotiable for the right candidates.
