Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing EPCM design team in Dublin.

In this role you will be responsible for specific technical design aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs.

Successful candidates will have 8+ years’ experience designing and overseeing projects for mechanical/plumbing/fire protection building systems, work with multi-disciplined design teams, project managers, and construction management personnel.

Proven success working for A/E or EPCM consultancy companies in a similar role, supporting projects related to cleanrooms, laboratories, semiconductor fab, data center, solar manufacturing, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries is highly desirable.

This is a hybrid position and will require the selected individual to live local and in commutable distance to the Dublin Office and Client Site.

Be a Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for the ATG Electrical group, leading and controlling the design for Electrical systems.

Execute site master planning, concept designs and preliminary engineering phases with other team members as the Advance Technology Group (ATG).

Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyse operation of existing systems.

Be able progress the sequence of operation (SSO) development with Client systems owners.

Identify and research future advanced technology trends. Keep on top of technology and industry developments.

Assist in the development of group’s systems, procedures, standards and knowledge management.

Support Business Development through client engagement at senior levels.

Develop, organise and control programmes to eliminate existing or potential electrical engineering problems and innovate and deliver plant improvements for our clients.

Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers.

Perform Electrical design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.

Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.

Assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.

Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and can work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.

Size and specify Electrical requirements and produce datasheets

Panel design for electrical systems

Develop standard installation details.

Update P&ID’s with Electrical content.

Produce Electrical system philosophy with input from other disciplines as required.

Produce equipment lists and cable schedules

Provide technical backup to the operations design teams in resolving specific complex problems.

Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.

Requirements

8+ Years relevant experience with several years as design discipline lead.

Semiconductor experience preferable.

General knowledge of electrical system design and applicable codes.

Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel)

Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels

Excellent leadership and communication skills
