Senior Project Manager - Water - Ireland
Job Description
Our client is a multi-disciplined international engineering consultancy, currently undergoing rapid growth in Ireland.
We are currently recruiting a number of Senior Project Managers to deliver client side services in the water sector.
This role can be based in Cork, Dublin or Galway.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of major projects and programmes with a focus on the scope, budget, schedule and risk.
Technical proficiency, water industry expertise along with the ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the diverse multi-disciplinary teams, teams motivation and leadership.
Liaise with Clients, third-party Consultants, Contractors and other Stakeholders as appropriate.
Co-ordinate, attend meetings and prepare records of these meetings.
Contributes to the development of the overall approach for the programme, its major time frames and the definition of its major deliverables to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes.
Ensures appropriate governance functions for the program in accordance with policies and practices.
Directs the creation and maintenance of the required documentation.
Develops and controls the budget, and manages expenditure within agreed spending plans.
Ensures and balances the availability of the required skills and competencies across project teams within the programme.
Acts as an advisor and builds and maintains relationships across the wider stakeholder community.
Leads the oversight of programme projects’ execution, their progress compared with the plan and the production of agreed deliverables.
Lead a portfolio of projects, ensuring that appropriate project controls are in place within the team having regard to budgets, schedule, quality, risk and activity monitoring.
Deliver on a range of complex, large scale technical and commercial projects.
Monitors and coordinates dependencies across the projects in the program, and resolves conflicts.
Have the capability to deliver programmes and projects of work in accordance with approved programme and project management methodologies such as PMI’s PMP, and CAPM and Axeos Prince 2 and MSP as appropriate
Requirements
Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in project delivery across infrastructure programmes of significant size and complexity in the power and energy sector.
Relevant third level qualification in engineering or related discipline.
Chartered Engineer or Chartered Project Professional.
Qualification in project management such as PMP, PRINCE II will be advantageous.
Have a good knowledge & experience of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
Have a strong water engineering technical capability.
Have a strong knowledge & experience of contract administration & delivery.
Have the ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as needed.
Strong knowledge of project and programme management methodologies and industry best practice.
Strong technical experience in delivery of infrastructural and/or construction projects
Proven track record in dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion and ability to achieve results within the set timeframe.
Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with a wide range of key stakeholders and ability to influence the key decision makers.
Strong and demonstrable leadership and management skills including project management, procurement, contract management, financial and change management.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team with excellent people management skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of the team.
