Site Inspectors - Buildings - Civils - Structural - Dublin

Job Description

Our Client is a leading engineering consultancy, offering civil and structural engineering design and consultancy, project management and construction related H&S consultancy to leading Building & Property Development companies.

Roles are available for Civils Inspectors (private drainage, Irish Water infrastructure, storm sewers, attenuation systems, roads, junctions, carparks, pedestrian and cyclist facilities, etc), 

Structural Inspectors and Building Services Inspectors.

Buildings and Civil Site Inspectors are required to support the Design Teams in the implementation of Inspection Plans for building works in accordance with the BCAR regulations.

You will be working on large scale city centre commerical projects to developer housing schemes and all types of project in between.  

While projects may be anywhere in Ireland, the vast majority of our projects are in Dublin and the surrounding counties

Responsible for carrying out and documenting inspections in their disciplines across multiple sites, for identifying and notifying builders and designers of non-conformances and for follow up checking to ensure non-compliances are satisfactorily closed out.

Report to the lead civil/structural/building services designers on the projects assigned to

Required to carry out inspections at assigned sites (typically 2/3 inspections per day)

Thorough understanding of the Building Regulations and, for civil engineering works, of local authority taking in charge standards and Irish Water standards and procedures

Prior experience as a Resident Engineer, Inspector or Site Engineer on building and civil engineering projects essential. 

Clear understanding of the responsibilities of Designers during construction stage under BCAR required.

Requirements

Level 8 degree in the relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.

Ideally Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland or equivalent, but will consider non-chartered candidates with a strong track record of relevant experience.

Prior experience as Resident Engineer, Inspector or Site Engineer on building and civil engineering projects essential. 

Strong communications skills required and in particular ability to prepare clear, understandable, concise inspection reports

Projects are mainly based in Dublin and the surrounding counties with some travel nationwide.

Hold a current Irish driving licence and own vehicle.

Package

Salary €50k - €65k negotiable based on relevant experience

Mileage allowance will be paid.
