Structural Engineer - Steel Design - Longford

Job Description

Our client provides a wide range of services to the steel construction industry

Draft and prepare drawings, designs and diagrams

Develop design ideas and structural design calculations

Communicate with engineers/architects when preparing drawings/designs

Calculate dimensions and allowances with accurate precision

Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements

Willingness and responsive to the demands and coordination of other design team professionals, clients and contractors

Liaise with external consultants and clients

Requirements

Level 8 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

0 – 3 years’ experience. Experience preferred to be in an Engineering Design Office background, but site work is also deemed to be valuable.

Ideally you will have gained experience working on steel frame projects.

Full working knowledge of Eurocode Design Standards for Steel and a good working knowledge of the Concrete Eurocode Design Standards

A good knowledge of structural engineering design software including Master series, Tekla Structural Designer, Idea Statica or similar.

Be able to work in a team environment and take direction from Project Lead Engineers to prioritise deliverables, work to tight deadlines and deliver projects on time.

Excellent written and verbal communication

Self-motivated with great attention to detail and ability to research a subject.
