Our client is a leading Irish civil engineering main contractor specializing in major infrastructure, roads, bridges, and earthworks projects across Ireland.

The Civil Quantity Surveyor is required to take commercial management responsibility for a newly awarded €30M national road upgrade scheme (N86 Tralee to Dingle) over a 2-year project duration.

Based out of the project site office near Tralee, they will report to the Group Commercial Manager and oversee all commercial operations from project kickoff to final account, while guiding a Graduate Quantity Surveyor on site.

Manage the full commercial lifecycle for the €30M N86 road upgrade scheme, reporting directly to the Group Commercial Manager

Administer public works civil engineering contracts (PWC / CWMF), ensuring compliance with notification procedures, baseline measurement, and change control

Measure, value, and certify works completed across earthworks, drainage, pavement, structures, and utility realignment packages

Prepare, submit, and agree monthly interim payment applications, valuations, and variation accounts with local authority / client representatives

Procure subcontractors and specialist suppliers, conducting tender analyses, package comparisons, and contract awards

Assess, negotiate, and agree subcontractor interim payment applications, variations, and final accounts

Prepare monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), cash flow projections, and commercial risk registers for executive review

Monitor site expenditure, preliminaries spend, and material outputs against project baseline budgets

Manage, mentor, and guide a Graduate Quantity Surveyor assigned to the site delivery team

Requirements

Degree (Level 8) in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Economics

5+ years' post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience working with a Civil Engineering Main Contractor

Demonstrated track record delivering civil infrastructure, roads, earthworks, or major public works schemes

Solid working knowledge of the Public Works Contract for Civil Engineering (PWC) or Irish CWMF frameworks

Strong technical measurement skills (CESMM / MMHW), commercial acumen, and negotiation capability

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, commercial management systems, and quantity take-off software

Full clean driver's licence and willingness to be based on site in County Kerry for the 2-year project duration

Salary €60,000 - €75,000 depending on experience
