Contract Manufacturing Manager - Biopharmaceutical / Aseptic

Our client is a global biopharmaceutical leader specializing in the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of innovative biological therapies and human therapeutics.

A Contract Manufacturing Senior Manager (Site Lead) is required to oversee external contract manufacturing organization (CMO) operations, vendor relationships, and technical product transfer projects across Ireland and international sites.

Operating on a flexible hybrid basis (1 day per month on-site with up to 20% travel), they will act as the primary operational and commercial lead for assigned CMO sites, driving manufacturing performance, cGMP compliance, tech transfer execution, and contract administration for clinical and commercial drug products.

Lead operational oversight and performance monitoring for assigned Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) using lean tools and PDCA methodology

Act as primary business and operational lead for external vendor management, leading site operating reviews and executive relationship management

Oversee technology transfer projects, technical product introductions, and process validation activities from planning through to site execution

Manage CMO financial structures, capacity planning, supply agreements, scope of work (SOW) contracts, CDAs, and budget development

Provide end-to-end project management for cross-functional drug substance (DS), drug product (DP), or packaging transfer activities across international sites

Monitor site KPIs, lead issue management/escalation workflows, and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Drive risk management plans (RM) and site-level issue resolution to ensure seamless product supply and cGMP compliance

Collaborate closely with internal quality, supply chain, regulatory, and technical operations teams to align commercial supply priorities

Requirements

Degree (Level 8) in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or a related biopharmaceutical discipline

8+ years' experience in a cGMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment (Proteins, APIs, Drug Substance, Drug Product, or Aseptic Packaging)

In-depth knowledge of cGMP principles, FDA/EMA regulatory guidelines, and process validation requirements

5+ years' experience managing external CMO/CDMO partners or leading cross-functional teams for clinical and commercial products

3+ years' formal project management experience leading multi-functional, multi-location tech transfer or manufacturing projects

Proven experience in contract negotiation, supplier financial management, and capacity planning

Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international) and work in a hybrid delivery model
