Our client is a building services consultancy offering expertise in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Job Description

Deliver detailed electrical design solutions for commercial, residential, healthcare, and educational development projects.

Prepare power distribution layout designs, lighting and emergency lighting calculations, cable sizing, and containment routing.

Develop technical specifications, single-line diagrams, and equipment schedules in accordance with Irish Standards and IS 10101.

Collaborate with internal mechanical, public health, and BIM teams to deliver integrated MEP engineering designs.

Liaise directly with clients, architects, main contractors, and local utility providers (ESB, local authorities) during design stages.

Perform site surveys, attend design team meetings, and inspect electrical installations during construction phases.

Utilize industry-standard electrical calculation software including Dialux, Relux, and Amtech/Trimble ProDesign.

Assist in the preparation of planning support documents, sustainable design reports, and tender packs.

Requirements

Degree (Level 8 preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical design within a building services consultancy environment.

Strong knowledge of Irish National Wiring Rules (IS 10101) and relevant building regulations. Proficiency in electrical calculation and design software (Amtech/Trimble ProDesign, Dialux) and CAD/Revit MEP.

Strong communication, client liaison, and team-working capabilities.

Progressing towards Chartered Engineer status (Desirable).
