Estimator - Main Contractor - Dublin

Our client is a leading Irish construction company who possess ISO9001 accreditation and continually lead the way in integrated services and support.

The Estimator is required to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for high-profile projects in sectors such as Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, and Critical Logistics across Ireland and Europe.

They will review tender documentation, analyze subcontractor packages, and collaborate with commercial teams to ensure competitive, risk-managed bid submissions.

Prepare detailed cost estimates by reviewing drawings, specifications, and related tender documentation

Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and gaps within tender packages to maximize commercial advantage

Source, evaluate, and negotiate competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers

Analyse subcontractor packages, conduct risk assessments, and identify value engineering opportunities

Collaborate with the Quantity Surveying team during pre-contract negotiations and handover stages

Liaise with senior management to ensure all tender submissions and deadlines are met in line with governance standards

Manage and control preliminary budgets throughout the tendering process

Compile and maintain accurate cost databases, market pricing trends, and benchmarking reports

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, subcontractors, and suppliers during bid stages

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent

3+ years' experience in an Estimating or commercial role within main contracting

Strong knowledge of construction methods, outputs, and current labour, plant, and material costs

Commercially astute with strong analytical, numerical, and tender management skills

Proficient in data analysis tools and estimating software

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
