Health & Safety Advisor - Civil Utilities Contractor - Wexford

Our client is a leading Irish Civils contractor who possess ISO9001 accreditation and continually lead the way in integrated services and support.Â
They have a strong safety first attitude and their certified safety & environmental systems allow them to operate in a safe and more efficient way.
Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, a Construction H&S Advisor is required to join the team to work on civil & utility construction projects in Wexford.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments tailored to the civil engineering environment.
Investigate incidents thoroughly and report findings accurately to facilitate continuous improvement.
Develop and deliver employee training programs to promote safety awareness and compliance.
Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Create and maintain health and safety documentation, meticulously logging all relevant information.
Ensure compliance with current safety regulations and collaborate with departments to address safety concerns effectively.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Occupational Safety and Health Management (Level 7/8) or equivalent.
3-5 years of relevant experience dealing with crews on construction sites to carry out audits risk assessment etc.
Excellent proficiency in English, particularly in report writing and statement acquisition.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various departments and managers.
Proficient in drafting and delivering PowerPoint presentations and conducting ongoing toolbox talks.
Advantageous qualifications include certification as a Manual Handling or Abrasive Wheel instructor trainer, along with First Aid Training.
Previous experience in water, electricity, or telecoms civils utilities works is advantageous.
Possession of relevant certifications such as Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and a full driving license.
Package
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with potential for extra hours nearing project completion.
Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
21 days of annual leave provided, along with a company phone and laptop.
Access to a company vehicle and fuel card for work-related travel.
