Health and Safety Manager - Construction Contractor - Offaly

Our client is a leading Irish leading building and civil contractor based in the Midlands with projects in the Midlands and Leinster Regions
They have successfully completed projects across a range of sectors including Restoration / Refurbishment, Hospitality, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare and Pharmaceutical.
A Health and Safety Manager is required to lead all H&S activities within a busy, dynamic, growing construction company.
Plan and provide training to all employees of the company and implement induction training for all new employees and sub-contractors.
Monitor all legislative updates and implement any changes to legislation effectively and in a timely manner.
Investigate, record, and report accidents, and incidents promptly, ensuring that any corrective actions are implemented.
Source and maintain industry accreditation for the company.
Ensure all employees and subcontractors have up to date training and certificates.
Develop and conduct audits, toolbox talks and other training activities
Monitor legislative updates, ensuring necessary changes are applied promptly
Regularly review and update Risk Assessments, Safer Operating Procedures, and Safety Statements, communicating any updates to operatives on site.
Complete Safety Induction Training for all new employees and sub-contractors, and maintain documentary evidence of same.
Identify new and on-going safety related training requirements, ensuring all mandatory training is reviewed and delivered on time.
Work to achieve industry accreditation for the company.
Review and update company safety management system.
Ensure all employees and subcontractors have up to date training and certificates.
Attend regular Health and Safety Meetings.
Investigate, record, and report accidents, incidents and near –misses promptly, ensuring any corrective actions are implemented without delay.
Manage effectively and efficiently the health and safety budget.
Attend CPD events as/when required.
Must work on own initiative to improve the health and safety status and practise within the company.
Requirements
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar H&S Management role within the construction industry.
Must hold a qualification in occupational health and safety.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly skilled in excel, word and general computer literacy.
Must be an excellent problem solver, team player and have good interpersonal skills.
Must have an excellent ability to work on own initiative and be self-motivated.
Package
€60K - €75K dependant on experience
