Intermediate Structural Engineer - Engineering Consultancy - Dublin/Cork

Employment Type: 12 Month Rolling Contract

Work Location: Hybrid (Office & Site Visits)

Pay: Rate €45 - €60 per hour

Experience: 6+ years' experience in structural engineering design

Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required

Our client is a global engineering and technical professional services firm delivering major infrastructure, life sciences, and high-tech facility projects across Ireland.

The Intermediate Structural Engineer is required to lead and deliver structural engineering design packages on major projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed construction documentation.

They will organize, assign, and delegate structural design tasks within cross-disciplinary teams while managing scope, schedule, and technical quality to meet project goals.

Lead detailed structural calculations and design in structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry in accordance with Eurocodes, Irish standards, and client specifications.

Coordinate closely with architects, mechanical, electrical, civil, and process engineering disciplines, as well as REVIT/BIM technicians, to deliver integrated design solutions.

Perform site inspections, review contractor submittals, answer RFI queries, and ensure construction activities align with design intent and contract requirements.

Participate in client design reviews, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior engineers and technicians within the structural discipline.

Requirements

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Level 8 minimum)

Chartered Structural Engineer status (CEng MIEI / MIStructE) or actively working towards chartership

6+ years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering design within a consultancy environment

Proven design experience in reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, and foundation design using structural analysis software and Eurocodes

Experience working on advanced technology, life sciences, data centres, or complex industrial/infrastructure projects

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary coordination skills

Package

Competitive hourly rate (€45 - €60 / hour depending on experience)

12-month rolling contract duration with strong potential for extension

Hybrid working model (office/home & site visits)
