Junior Estimator - Main Contractor - Dublin

Our client is a premier Irish main contractor delivering large-scale commercial, civil, and industrial projects nationwide.

The Junior Estimator is required to provide crucial support to the estimating team across a diverse portfolio of concurrent projects in the residential, educational, and commercial sectors.

They will assist in reviewing tender documentation, quantifying materials, sourcing subcontractor quotations, and helping assemble competitive, detailed bid submissions.

Review tender drawings, specifications, and project documentation to compile accurate bill of quantities and material take-offs

Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and comparing competitive quotations from suppliers and specialist subcontractors

Maintain and update internal cost databases, supplier contact lists, and historical pricing records

Participate in tender kickoff meetings and help monitor bid schedules to ensure strict deadline compliance

Support the senior estimating team in identifying potential project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities

Collaborate with quantity surveying and project delivery teams during handover stages for successfully won projects

Assist in preparing tender submission folders, breakdown schedules, and client presentation materials

Maintain clear, organized project filing systems for all live and historical tender documentation

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent

2+ years' post-graduate experience in an Estimating or Quantity Surveying role within the Irish construction market

Good understanding of construction methods, material costs, and measurement principles

Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and exposure to estimating software (e.g., CostX, Cubit, or Bluebeam)

Strong numerical, analytical, and time-management skills with high attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to learning
