M&E Quantity Surveyor - PQS Consultancy - Dublin

Our client is a global natural and built assets consultancy delivering engineering cost management and project controls across Ireland and Europe.

The M&E Quantity Surveyor is required to provide commercial, cost planning, and procurement expertise on complex mechanical and electrical packages across data centre, life sciences, healthcare, and commercial sectors.

They will manage cost management functions from initial pre-feasibility and benchmarking through to post-contract cost control and final account agreement.

Prepare detailed M&E cost plans, elemental estimates, and benchmarking reports for mechanical and electrical engineering services.

Provide cost management advice on complex M&E packages including HVAC, high-voltage power, piping, and process installations.

Review tender documentation, evaluate contractor M&E bid submissions, and carry out detailed tender analyses.

Complete monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and value reconciliations for clients and funding bodies.

Assess and certify interim payment applications, variation requests, and compensation events.

Conduct cost-to-complete forecasts and risk evaluations across live construction phases.

Negotiate and agree final accounts with main contractors and M&E sub-contractors.

Interface directly with project directors, design consultants, and blue-chip client representatives.

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services, or relevant construction discipline (SCSI / RICS accredited preferred)

5+ years' post-graduate experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor (PQS or Specialist M&E Contractor background)

In-depth technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and process engineering systems.

Proficient in M&E measurement standards (ARM4, NRM2) and cost management systems (CostX, Bluebeam)

Strong understanding of standard contract forms including Public Works Contracts, RIAI, and FIDIC.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting abilities

Package

Staff Package: Salary €75k - €95k depending on experience, plus pension, healthcare allowance, and hybrid working options

Contract Package: €55 - €70 per hour depending on experience, weekly payroll framework
