Our client is a leading Irish main contractor delivering major data centre, high-tech, and complex industrial construction projects across Europe.

The MEP Quantity Surveyor is required to manage the commercial administration, change management, and cost control for mechanical and electrical packages on a large-scale data centre project in Västerås, Sweden.

Reporting to the Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor, they will oversee sub-contractor accounts, change orders, valuations, and risk management while actively promoting a strong site safety culture.

Oversee the commercial administration and change order process for mechanical, electrical, and process packages

Ensure all project scope changes are captured, costed, and validated prior to submitting to the design team and client

Prepare tender documentation, scope packages, and bills of quantities for MEP sub-contractors and suppliers

Carry out cost assessments, tender analyses, and work package allocations for specialist MEP sub-contractors

Value completed mechanical and electrical works, verify progress applications, and arrange interim payments

Perform risk assessments, cost control, value engineering, and cash flow forecasting across active MEP workstreams

Identify, analyze, and manage commercial risks, developing mitigation plans and assisting with contractual claims

Prepare detailed monthly progress reports, cost-to-complete forecasts, and CVR inputs for project leadership

Maintain full awareness of building contracts in use and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations

Model safe behavior on site, prioritizing safety policy communication, inspections, and worker training

Requirements

Degree (3rd level qualification) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or Building Services Engineering

3 - 5 years' post-graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor with strong knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical (MEP) packages

Experience working on large-scale data centres, pharmaceutical plants, or complex industrial projects is highly advantageous

Proven ability to manage change order processes, variations, and sub-contractor accounts

Articulate with strong numerical, analytical, time management, and report-writing skills

Ability to work independently on site while maintaining effective communication with project management

Must possess an EU Passport or active EU work authorization to work on European site rotations
