Our client is a leading Irish building contractor working on a broad range of buildings projects in the healthcare, education, industry, construction, Data centres and leisure industries in the UK & Irish markets.

Job Description

Subcontractor Coordination: Manage mechanical subcontractors daily to ensure work aligns with site schedules, quality benchmarks, and specifications.

Site Management: Oversee physical mechanical installations on-site, including HVAC, piped services, and specialized mechanical plants.

Technical Oversight: Review installation drawings, track material deliveries, and resolve complex physical spatial clashes or site constraints.

Commissioning Coordination: Lead pre-commissioning and final commissioning phases alongside clients, operations teams, and handover staff.

Progress Tracking: Monitor sub-contractor project timelines against the master schedule and report progress directly to the Project Manager.

Commercial Support: Assist the commercial team in validating mechanical progress claims, variations, and material procurement orders.

Health & Safety: Enforce the highest standards of safety, ensuring all mechanical installations strictly adhere to EHS policies.

Job Requirements

8–10 years of site-based experience managing mechanical installations on large-scale, complex building or industrial projects.

Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline is strongly preferred.

Focus Profile: Strongly delivery-focused with deep expertise in site operations, constructability, and sub-contractor management rather than pure design.

Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of modern mechanical building services, commissioning sequences, and Irish/UK building regulations.

Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership qualities, sharp problem-solving capabilities, and assertive communication skills.

Availability: Ready to onboard and hit the ground running ASAP.
