Our client is a multi-disciplined Utilities and Civil Engineering Contractor working with Local Authorities, Irish Water, Group Water Schemes, Local & County Councils.
Due to continued growth, newly awarded contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, our client are now hiring a Operations Manager to oversee the Delivery Operations of Water / Waste water framework projects.
This is a full- time position covering the South East region, based out of Kilkenny, working on Irish Water programme.
Project Oversight & Coordination
Manage daily operations across multiple projects.
Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, quality and environmental regulations and industry and company standards.
Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with site managers, design teams, engineers, subcontractors, and local authorities.
Develop and maintain project timelines.
Plan and oversee logistics, including material deliveries, licences, and equipment mobilisation.
Ensure projects meet technical specifications and quality standards.
Team Management
Management of site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors.
Delivery of pre-construction meetings to site teams.
Lead recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of operational staff as required.
Ensure adequate workforce levels across projects.
Identifying change and implementing change control process and agreement
Facilitate the compliance of as-built drawings/ sketches and the work safety files.
Cost Control & Reporting
Monitor project budgets, control operational costs, and ensure profitability.
Track KPIs, financial performance, and productivity metrics.
Prepare regular operational reports for senior management.
Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
Track progress against key milestones and KPI’s.
Client & Stakeholder Liaison
Act as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Attend progress meetings and provide project updates.
Manage expectations and resolve conflicts effectively.
Requirements
Qualified in construction management or related field.
Experience working with Irish or UK Water Standards – essential
Strong leadership, problem-solving and organisational skills
Excellent track record in subcontractor coordination and stakeholder communication.
Confident and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to problem solve and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Project, and general IT tools.
Full driving licence is essential.
