Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required

Our client is a leading global engineering and project management consultancy delivering major infrastructure, commercial, and capital works across Ireland.

The Principal Fire Safety Engineer is required to lead fire safety engineering design, fire strategy development, and project monitoring for building and site development projects.

They will develop comprehensive fire safety strategies from inception through to completion across transport, commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and residential sectors.

Prepare technical reports, design drawings, fire safety certificate (FSC) applications, and perform technical reviews of design team proposals.

Conduct fire risk assessments, building surveys, and site inspections as required under BC(A)R 2014.

Review contractor submittals, material specifications, and design proposals to ensure full compliance with statutory requirements.

Guide, mentor, and support the professional development of junior engineers and technical staff within the team.

Develop a strong network of clients and represent the fire safety engineering discipline in multi-disciplinary design team meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) (Level 8) in Fire Safety Engineering or equivalent (MSc in Fire Safety Engineering preferred)

Chartered Engineer status (CEng MIEI) or qualifications suitable to attain Chartered status ideally but not required 

10+ years of post-graduate experience in fire safety engineering within a consultancy environment

In-depth proficiency in Irish fire safety design, legislation, Building Regulations (Part B), and construction technology

Proven track record delivering fire safety strategies, FSC applications, and BCAR compliance monitoring

Full driving licence and access to own transport

Excellent technical report writing, communication, and client-facing skills
