Project Controls Engineer - Tier 1 Main Contractor - Dublin

Our client is a leading Tier 1 Irish main contractor known for delivering complex building and civil engineering schemes across Ireland and the UK.

The Project Controls Engineer is required to join their central Planning Department to drive schedule management, baseline tracking, and earned value reporting across major commercial and institutional projects in Dublin.

Based in Dublin on site/office, they will develop Primavera P6 master schedules, perform critical path analyses, align procurement programmes with commercial teams, and prepare project control performance dashboards for executive leadership and client stakeholders.

Develop, maintain, and baseline project master programmes using Primavera P6 across all active construction stages

Monitor progress against schedule baselines, track float erosion, and analyze critical path variances to mitigate project delay risks

Execute Earned Value Management (EVM), generating cost-schedule performance indicators, variance reports, and completion forecasts

Partner with commercial teams on cash flow forecasting, payment applications, procurement schedule alignment, and subcontractor package tracking

Coordinate with site teams, package managers, and subcontractors to verify physical progress data and update look-ahead programmes

Produce executive project controls dashboards, KPI reports, and progress summaries for internal operational reviews and client progress meetings

Assist Project Managers with resource loading, delay mitigation strategies, baseline revisions, and extension of time (EOT) claim documentation

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management

3-5+ years' experience as a Project Controls Engineer, Planning Engineer, or Project Planner with a Main Contractor or Consultancy

Demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6 for baseline creation, logic linking, resource loading, and schedule variance tracking

Solid understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology, critical path analysis (CPA), and project performance metrics

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface across site, commercial, and client stakeholder groups
