Project Manager - Civil Utilities Contractor - Wexford

Our client is a leading Irish Civils contractor who possess ISO9001 accreditation and continually lead the way in integrated services and support.

The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating construction activities on-site.
With a focus on efficiency, safety, and adherence to established standards and schedules, this role ensures successful project execution.
Delivery and coordination of ESB and utility infrastructure projects from inception to completion
Review project plans and requirements and produce a detailed baseline programme on Microsoft Project.
Track programme on a regular basis and issue updates to client.
Identify critical path delays when they occur and demonstrate on programme.
Negotiate extensions of time where required with the client.
Review project pricing and track internal costs to ensure project is being delivered as priced and can be completed within required budget.
Identify areas where project is losing money, identify root cause and develop strategy to mitigate this.
Communicate commercials issues and proposed solutions to the Contracts Manager.
Understand what is included in the project contract/price and identify project variations where they occur.
Negotiate additional costs where required with the client.
Review contract documentation and communicate required notices to the client within timeframes specified.
Line manager for Site Agent, Project Engineer and QS. Responsible for all workers on site through Site Agent.
Review and approve monthly progress claims.
Review and approve Risk Assessment Method Statements and other pre-construction HS documentation.
Carry out regular HS and quality audits.
Identify design issues and communicate these to the client along with proposed solutions.
Requirements
Level 8 qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
4–7 years’ experience in utilities, power, or infrastructure delivery
Experience working within live utility environments desirable
Experience with ESB Networks, utility ducting, cable installation, substations, or public realm utility works beneficial
Knowledge of permit systems, traffic management, and utility coordination advantageous
Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work within fast-paced operational environments
Full clean driving licence
Safe Pass and relevant utility certifications desirable
Package
Salary: DOE (Depending on Experience)
Annual Leave: 21 Days
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
