Our client is one of the largest civil construction companies in Europe, engineering vital infrastructure and constructing high-quality infrastructure projects across Ireland.

The Structures Agent / Project Manager is responsible for the safe, commercial, technical, and operational delivery of structures works on a major motorway project in Cork.

You will lead the delivery of bridge structures, retaining walls, precast concrete elements, culverts, reinforced concrete structures, earthworks interfaces, and associated highway infrastructure.

Provide leadership to engineering, supervisory, and subcontractor teams, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, in compliance with TII specification requirements, project specifications, and quality standards.

Carry significant responsibility for commercial performance, construction delivery, stakeholder management, and the successful execution of complex structural works from commencement through to handover.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company procedures, client standards, and project-specific requirements.

Lead site safety inspections, audits, investigations, and corrective actions while ensuring suitable RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work are implemented.

Provide technical leadership for all structural, civil engineering, and construction activities, managing construction methodologies, engineering solutions, and design interfaces.

Hold overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, implementation, inspection, and safe removal of temporary works.

Ensure all temporary works are adequately designed, checked, constructed, inspected, and authorised before use, maintaining the Temporary Works Register and permit systems. Manage temporary works associated with falsework, formwork, and propping, ensuring risks are integrated into project planning.

Implement and maintain project quality management systems, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with ITPs and client requirements. Identify variations, compensation events, contractual change, and risk mitigation measures.

Develop and manage construction programmes, coordinating resources, logistics, and subcontractors to achieve objectives.

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

8+ years of extensive experience managing structures and civil engineering elements on major infrastructure projects.

Temporary Works Coordinator qualification is essential.

Proven leadership experience managing construction teams and delivering heavy civil engineering projects.

Strong experience in reinforced concrete, steel structures, and temporary works.

Knowledge of NEC contracts, commercial management, and project controls is highly desirable.

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership is advantageous.
