Job Description

Manage the complete lifecycle of mechanical engineering capital projects from design through procurement, installation, and commissioning. Design, specify, and procure mechanical plant, process equipment, HVAC, purified water, and utility systems for pharmaceutical facilities. Ensure all project designs and equipment installations strictly adhere to GMP guidelines, health and safety regulations, and Irish/EU standards. Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, equipment vendors, and installation contractors on-site to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Prepare project documentation including technical specifications, scopes of work, commissioning protocols, DQ/IQ/OQ validation reports, and FAT/SAT documentation. Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning phases, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations. Liaise closely with site engineering, quality, operations, and EHS teams to drive continuous improvement and successful project delivery.

Job Requirements

Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent discipline). Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer within the pharmaceutical, biopharma, or medical device sector. Strong understanding of GMP regulations, cleanroom environments, process piping, and utility systems (e.g., HVAC, WFI, purified water, steam). Demonstrated experience managing capital engineering projects, vendor selection, and site contractors. Proficiency in CAD software and project management tools. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
