Our client is a leading Irish building contractor working on a broad range of buildings projects in the healthcare, education, industry, construction and leisure industries.
They are looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team, supporting a major construction project based in Westport, Co. Mayo.
In this role you will be supported by an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Director, with a clear pathway for progression.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-profile project, taking ownership of the commercial management of the project from pre-construction through to final account while working with an ambitious and growing team.
Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of the project from commencement through to final account.
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and cost reporting.
Measure and value subcontractor works and prepare interim valuations.
Procure subcontractors and suppliers, managing the tendering and negotiation process.
Assess, negotiate, and agree variations, change orders, and final accounts.
Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to maximize value and improve commercial performance.
Prepare monthly commercial reports and forecasts for senior management.
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, Clients, and Design Teams to support successful project delivery.
Ensure all commercial documentation is maintained accurately throughout the project life cycle.
Support the successful delivery of projects safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Requirements
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline
3–5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry
Experience working on residential, commercial, healthcare, education, or industrial construction projects
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management
Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and analytical skills
Strong communication and organisational abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial management software
Experience delivering construction projects in Ireland
