Pay: Salary €60,000 - €80,000 + Vehicle / Allowance + Package

Experience: 4-6+ years' Quantity Surveying experience with a Specialist Subcontractor or Main Contractor (Structural Steel / Heavy Engineering / Commercial)

Our client is one of Ireland and the UK's leading structural steel fabrication and engineering contractors, specializing in the design, fabrication, and erection of complex structural steel frameworks for major commercial, industrial, data centre, and infrastructure developments.

A Project Quantity Surveyor is required to join their commercial team on-site for a flagship structural steel package in Dublin.

While head office operations are based in Longford, this role is predominantly site-based on major project delivery in Dublin, making it ideal for candidates based in the Greater Dublin Area or midlands. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, they will take commercial control of structural steel packages from post-award manufacturing/erection through to final account settlement.

Lead day-to-day commercial management for major structural steel design, fabrication, and erection packages on site in Dublin

Manage contract administration, interim payment applications, progress valuations, and client billing cycles

Identify, measure, price, and negotiate scope variations, design changes, and site modifications with main contractors and client representatives

Review and evaluate structural steel drawings, fabrication schedules, tonnage metrics, and site erection progress

Procure specialist sub-contract packages (e.g., steel erection teams, metal decking, fire protection/intumescent coating, specialist logistics) and manage interim payments

Maintain variation trackers, risk logs, and monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) for senior management review

Draft formal commercial correspondence, managing contractual notices, delay records, and extension of time (EOT) submittals

Manage project cash flow, monitor contra charges, and agree final accounts with main contractors and supply chain partners

Requirements

Degree (Level 8) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, or Commercial Management

4-6+ years' post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience gained with a Specialist Subcontractor (Structural Steel / Civil / MEP) or Main Contractor

Strong working knowledge of structural steel measurement (tonnage, connection details, protective coatings), fabrication workflows, and site erection procedures

Familiarity with standard forms of contract (Public Works / CWMF, RIAI, JCT, or NEC)

Proficient in MS Excel, quantity take-off software, and commercial management systems

Strong negotiation, contractual writing, and communication skills

Full clean driver's licence and willingness to be site-based in Dublin
