Resident Engineer - Bridge Projects - Mayo

Project Location: County Mayo

Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract, 12 months 

Work Location: Head office in Castlebar, 10 sites throughout Mayo

Pay: 50k - 60k 

Experience: 4+ years

Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required

Our Client is one of the world’s leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland. Seeking a Resident Engineer for a bridge construction project in the Galway/Mayo Region on a fixed term 12 month contract commencing in June 2026.

The ideal candidate will have relevant years of experience in bridge construction, rehabilitation and maintenance.

The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, willing to take responsibility and comfortable working as part of a site supervision team.

The role will involve site-based supervision, administration, monitoring and inspection of construction activities associated with a bridge construction and rehabilitation contract in the Galway/Mayo Region.

Requirements:

Relevant post-graduate experience of fulfilling a Resident Engineer role on projects involving the construction, repair, and rehabilitation of masonry, concrete and steel bridge structures.

Civil/Structural Engineering Degree.

Computer literate and with experience of relevant software (AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.

Experience in administering contracts using the Public Works form of contracts an advantage.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience in record keeping and reporting on the Contractor’s progress.

Ability to work within a team environment and under own initiative to achieve project goals.

Knowledge of current H&S regulations and best practices.

Full driving licence and a valid SafePass.
