Senior Associate Quality Control - QC Microbiology - Dun Laoghaire

Experience: 3+ years' biopharmaceutical QC Microbiology laboratory experience

Our client is a global biopharmaceutical manufacturing leader operating state-of-the-art commercial formulation, fill-finish, and packaging facilities in Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin.

The Senior QC Microbiology Associate is required to perform high-throughput microbiological testing, method transfers, and laboratory support functions supporting commercial manufacturing operations.

Based fully onsite with 90% of the working day dedicated to analytical testing, they will execute release testing, water sampling, sterility testing, and environmental control assays while participating in an 8-week on-call rotation for bioburden testing cover.

Execute routine and non-routine QC testing as primary priority, including Endotoxin testing, Bioburden testing, Sterility testing, and water sampling

Perform lab support duties including Biological Indicator (BI) testing, Growth Promotion Testing (GPT), Media Preparation, Microbial Identifications, and Autoclave operations

Execute media fill reconciliation, inspection, and weekend bioburden testing cover

Author, review, and approve technical reports, protocol validations, assay validations, and method transfer deliverables

Report, evaluate, trend, archive, and approve analytical data in LIMS and LMES, maintaining "Right First Time" compliance

Lead laboratory investigations (OOS/OOT), root cause analyses, and implement changes in controlled document management systems

Introduce new analytical techniques, assist with continuous operational excellence initiatives, and participate in audit/inspection readiness tasks

Provide technical guidance, train laboratory analysts, and represent the QC Microbiology department on cross-functional teams

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline

3+ years' hands-on QC Microbiology laboratory experience within a cGMP biopharmaceutical or sterile manufacturing environment

Demonstrated technical proficiency in Bioburden, Endotoxin (LAL), Sterility, Water Testing, Growth Promotion, and Microbial Identifications

Proven expertise in data integrity standards, cGMP compliance, Thermo LIMS, LMES, and technical report writing

Flexibility to support an 8-week on-call rotation and potential shift/weekend cover driven by manufacturing schedules

Package

Hourly Rate €30 - €35 per hour depending on experience (OT and DT eligible)

Initial 12-month contract duration with strong potential for extension

Onsite Expectations: Fully onsite in Dun Laoghaire (08:00 - 17:00 with flexible start time options between 07:00 and 10:00)

8-week on-call rotation framework for bioburden testing
