Our client is a leading global engineering and technical consultancy delivering complex civil infrastructure, water, and environmental solutions across Ireland.

The Senior Civil Drainage Engineer is required to lead the design and delivery of civil design, surface water management, and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) across major infrastructure, commercial, and residential developments.

They will develop detailed surface water, foul water, and attenuation design packages using Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or Causeway Flow in accordance with statutory standards.

Prepare flood risk assessments (FRA), drainage strategy reports, planning compliance documentation, and technical design notes.

Ensure all drainage networks and water infrastructure designs align with Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) codes of practice, local authority requirements, and environmental legislation.

Liaise directly with client representatives, local authorities, statutory bodies, and multidisciplinary project teams to progress design approvals and resolve technical queries.

Provide technical oversight, review design drawings and calculations, and mentor junior civil engineers and technicians within the design team.

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 NFQ minimum)

Chartered Engineer status (CEng MIEI / ICE) or actively working towards chartership

7+ years of post-graduate experience in civil design with a specialist focus on drainage, SuDS, and water infrastructure within a consultancy environment

Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroDrainage / Causeway Flow, and hydraulic modelling tools

In-depth knowledge of Uisce Éireann standards, Greater Dublin Strategic Drainage Study (GDSDS) guidelines, and Irish building regulations

Strong technical writing, client communication, and project coordination capabilities
