Job Description

Lead the mechanical or electrical engineering design of mission-critical infrastructure for large-scale hyperscale and colocation data centers.

Manage the full design lifecycle from concept, feasibility, and scheme design through to detailed design and construction support.

Coordinate across multi-disciplinary project teams—including structural, architectural, civil, and BIM specialists—to ensure seamlessly integrated project delivery.

Act as the primary technical point of contact for high-profile clients, managing requirements, design reviews, and technical queries.

Ensure design solutions comply with local planning regulations, international data center industry standards, and energy efficiency targets.

Oversee computational modeling, equipment specifications, single-line diagrams, and mechanical/electrical layout designs.

Mentor, coach, and guide junior and intermediate design engineers within the data center division.

Participate in design risk assessments, constructability reviews, and sustainable design evaluations.s

Job Requirements

Degree (Level 8 or 9) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering. Minimum of 8 years' professional engineering design experience, with a heavy focus on data center or mission-critical facility projects.

Chartered Engineer status (CEng / Engineers Ireland) or actively working towards it.

Deep understanding of data center power, cooling topologies, resilience requirements (Tier III/IV concepts), and sustainability frameworks.

Proven capability in managing multi-disciplinary engineering design teams and client relationships.

Proficiency with relevant design and calculation software (e.g., Revit, Amtech, Dialux, IES, or CFD software).

Excellent leadership, technical writing, and communication skills.
