Senior Structural Engineer, Asset Management, Dublin

Office/Project Location: Dublin

Work Location: Hybrid 2 days on site

Pay: 70,000 - 81,600

The Senior Structural Engineer will form part of the Asset Management/Design

team. He/she will be expected to manage and organise the inspection and

certification of existing structural assets and temporary works

to meet legislative and relevant Health and Safety requirements.

He/she will be expected to consider whole lifecycle activities in the development of design and construction of new and refurbishment structural projects associated with the inland navigable waterway system. He/she will be required to manage consultants and contractors employed by our client.

Requirements

A Level 8 (NFQ or equivalent) Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or an

equivalent qualification

Possess Chartered Engineer status with a recognised Engineering Institution.

A minimum of 5 years relevant post qualification experience in the design of

structural engineering projects.

A current valid Driving Licence and access to a form of transport which will

permit travel throughout Ireland.

Knowledge and experience of the key issues involved in Structural

design/construction in a water-based environment.

Experience in the design and inspection/assessment of structures such as bridges/ culverts etc.

Experience of forwarding schemes through tendering procedures.

Experience of working with IT based systems, engineering equipment /engineering design tools.

Knowledge of the Health, Safety & Welfare requirements in design, construction and life of projects in a water-based environment.

Proven experience of working on multiple projects within agreed budgets and to demanding time schedules.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Effective project management and problem-solving skills.

Effective negotiation skills.

Desirable:

Possess an understanding of the environmental issues involved in the

development of waterways.

Possess an understanding of the issues involved in working in two jurisdictions.

Possess a qualification in asset management (IAM Certificate in Asset Management or similar)

Possess a qualification in Project Management.

Package

Competitive Salary depending on Experience, up to €81,600
